Stephanie Kile is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist who has 10 plus years of experience in the field of nutrition. I fell into the field of nutrition when looking for a college to go to. My first passion was cooking and baking was a close second, so I thought I would end up going to culinary school. Instead the dietetics program caught my eye because it combined my love of cooking with a new passion I was heading down, and that was health. Many years of schooling later, I successfully became a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, got my Masters in Nutrition, and could finally pursue the passion God placed on my heart of helping people.

During my schooling I started to be bombarded with so much health education that I soon took my education to heart and became extreme in my eating and exercise routines. I had developed an eating disorder now known as Orthorexia. It is an obsession with health, healthy eating, and the purity of the food consumed. Combine that with some over exercise and my obsessions with health got taken too far. I worked on recovering from this mindset of extreme by seeing someone who I knew I would untimely want to be. She was a great nutritional counselor.

Recovery is a process involving time, twists, turns, and set backs. It takes hard work to overcome the voices in your head, to keep moving forward, and to enjoy all aspects of life again. Recovery is also something most people will continue to work on for the rest of their life.

I am also a wife, mom to two boys, and christian. I believe that those things all contribute to my reason why I created In Light Wellness. I want to help women and moms who may be in the same headspace I was and am in. I want them to know they are not alone. They do not have to eat the leftovers off their kids plates or eat the same amount as their husband. They are allowed to fuel their body the way it needs to, move their body the way it wants to, and love every part of their bodies even when its hard and doesn’t look the same as it did 10 years ago (it could even look better then it did back then!!). I don’t hesitate from sharing where I am on my journey on my social media, because I believe my past and present molded me to be who I am today, and that might be the voice you need to hear today, so I try to speak when God tells me to speak. This life is meant to be enjoyed but health is also something we need to think about. If we don’t take care of ourselves we won’t be able to care for our families. So let me help you care for yourself.
